What we did
Today in Ms. Lees humanity 8 class, we were in the library to work on the new projects we got. First, we all picked a medieval character from the Ritz cracker container. Then, after we finished choosing our medieval characters, we got into groups with the people that had the same kind of group like peasant, noble, and merchant. We were going to do some research after we wrote what you were doing for the project, and 4 topics that we wanted to write about the character. After that, we learned how to do bibliography. There were 3 types of bibliography that we learned and they were bibliography for internet sites, encyclopedia, and actually. Ms. Lees told us that we will at least need 1 physical book source for our project.
Why we did it
We went to the library because there was many sources compared to our classroom. For example, there was computers and many books. When we were choosing the medieval character, we drew out from the Ritz cracker container to make it fair as possible and to make no complains from the students. After we started researching about our character and probably the reason was that we went to the library was for us to get some work done so we didn't have a lot of homework. We learned how to do bibliographies because without knowing what to do, we will get it wrong.
Connections/Reflections
I think going to the library was a good idea because we got to use the computers, and do some research. I also was glad that we used the draw-out system when we chose our medieval roles because it was the most fair idea. I think in real life, at work, and other places, they use this system that so that someone that gets the hardest job doesn't complain. I think learning the bibliography was a good idea because in real life, when you books, etc, you must put the bibliography or else, somebody could sue you for having that persons information without listing that you got it from that person.
Homework/Tips
For Wednesday, finish up to chapter 9 of the 'There will be wolves' chapter questions. Also, Ms. Lees told us that we are going to have a little quiz on 'There will be wolves' so read the book again to refresh, and remember again. Also, we are in the library tomorrow, so come prepared with things we need for the Medieval role project. Also, study for tests for other subjects other than Humanities so you can achieve a good mark.
